Sarah Gaffen, PhD, Professor of Medicine and of Immunology, School of Medicine, will deliver a Provost’s Inaugural Lecture, “Two Faces of IL-17 signaling: Autoimmunity and Control of Fungal Pathogens,” at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, in Lecture Room 6, Scaife Hall. The Provost’s Inaugural Lecture series invites University of Pittsburgh faculty members to give a lecture marking their recent appointments to endowed chairs and distinguished status. Dr. Gaffen is the Gerald P. Rodnan Professor of Rheumatology. Her research focuses on the biology and function of the cytokine Interleukin-17.
A reception with light refreshments will follow the talk.
