About Research

Dr. Sumpter’s research is focused on understanding the multifaceted role of mast cells in inflammatory disease, particularly in the skin.  The long term goal of Dr. Sumpter’s research is to identify therapeutic targets for inhibiting mast cell activation and reducing collateral damage in the course of inflammatory diseases.
